ILEC Member Benefits

In today’s ever changing business and policy environments, small and rural ILECs need a association that guided directly by the interests of the rural telecommunications members. OPASTCO’s member-run committees focus on the issues that matter most to the rural telecom industry, and committee membership is open to all.

Advocacy

On Capitol Hill and at the FCC, OPASTCO provides a respected voice on behalf of its members, working closely with policy-makers, assisting companies with their own lobbying efforts, and working with the telecom industry to provide the consensus needed to effect positive results for rural companies and the communities they serve.

Advocacy activities for members include:

  • Participation on the Legislative Policy, Separations and Access, Wireless, and Video & Broadband committees.
  • Attending OPASTCO’s Annual Legislative & Regulatory Conference in Washington, D.C., where members are briefed on key issues and provided the tools they need to get their voices heard.
  • Calls to Action urging specific legislative sponsorship, Congressional testimony opportunities, and more.

Education

  • Discounted rates to OPASTCO’s Annual Winter Convention, Annual Summer Convention, Legislative & Regulatory Conference, and Technical & Marketing Symposium.
  • Education sessions led by rural telecom business, policy and technical experts who understand the unique challenges OPASTCO members face.

Technical Connections

  • Representation on the North American Numbering Council.
  • Connections with the DSL Forum, the IMS Forum, and the University of New Hampshire’s Interoperability Lab, and other organizations working on industry-wide technical efforts that could directly affect OPASTCO members.

ILEC Dues Structure

Annual dues are based on .001533% of an ILEC’s gross regulated revenues for the previous fiscal or calendar year, with a maximum payment of $11,300. New ILEC members qualify for pro-rated dues, based on the remaining months until Sept. 30th.
