Passport and Travel Restriction Information

If you're planning on attending or exhibiting in Quebec City, apply or renew now passports for yourself, family, employees and other guests.  The U.S. State Department's Website has detailed information on the passport application process.

Passport F.A.Q.:

  • If you are applying for a passport for the first time, or you are renewing a passport that expired more than 15 years ago; was issued before your 16th birthday; or your name has changed and you do not have legal documentation to prove it, you must apply in person.  The State Department lists more than 9,000 passport acceptance facilities nationwide.
  • If you are planning to bring your minor children to the convention, they also will need a passport.  This includes infants and toddlers.
  • If you will be flying to Quebec City and you are applying for or renewing your passport, you must have the traditional passport book; the new passport card is not valid for air travel.
  • The sooner, the better!  The average passport processing time is four to six weeks.

Travel Restriction Information:

Check now, too, whether you or your party may be affected by Canada's travel restrictions:

  • Anyone with a criminal record, including a DUI conviction, may be excluded from entering Canada, or otherwise may require a waiver of exclusion from the Canadian Embassy or a Canadian consulate in order to travel to the convention.
  • If your minor children will be accompanying you to the convention but their other parent will not, or if you will be bringing your grandchildren or children of whom you otherwise have custody or will be supervising, you should carry proof of custody or letters from the non-accompanying parent(s) authorizing travel.
