This year’s recipient of the OPASTCO Grassroots Advocacy Excellence Award is John Granger of Mapcom Systems, Inc., headquartered in Richmond, Va.
OPASTCO Vice President of Legislative Policy Randy Tyree shared these words during the presentation of this year's award during OPASTCO's 49th Annual Winter Convention in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.:
"On behalf of OPASTCO's Legislative Policy Committee and its chairman, Brian Cornelius, I am honored to present the John Granger as the winner of the 2012 Grassroots Advocacy Excellence Award.
"John has been and continues to be very active with OPASTCO. He is a leader on standing committees, and he has served as a member of the OPASTCO Board of Directors.
"When it comes to grassroots advocacy, John is a stalwart. He continually steps to meet the challenges when called upon to lobby his congressional delegation. John also is a regular participant at OPASTCO's annual Legislative and Regulatory Conference, of which Mapcom is a frequent sponsor."
